Xp not updating wsus
This is what I have done so far: 1) Changing Updates on local PC: 3) executed wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow 4)Synchronised and refreshed the group I am running out of ideas here. OK, the computer should show up in the All Computers group as well as the target group.
The client is running Windows XP pro, WSUS version is 3.0 and is running on Windows 2008 R2 64-bit. If it's not showing up in the All Computers group, then I would suspect that the GPO isn't being applied.
With the advent of the original client software for SUS, each time Automatic Updates checks the public Web site or internal server for updates, it also checks for updates to itself.
This means that most versions of Automatic Updates can be pointed to the public Windows Update site and they will automatically self-update.
If you expand the WSUS drive you should see it download more. The WSUS server has 5 GB of Free space left out of 50 GB where ' Database' & ' Update Source' folder is there.
The Synchronization Schedule for WSUS server has been kept at hrs.
If you used SUS to deploy Windows XP with SP2, you cannot see the new Automatic Updates user interface, and none of the new WSUS client functionality is available.
Straight from my toolbox comes a tool that helps you with this task: WSUS Offline is an unofficial program, that you can use to update Windows installations for situations with no and low-speed Internet connectivity.
It was previously known as “c’t offline update” and “DIY Service Pack“.
You can point WSUS Offline to your on-premises Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) installation to pull all the updates. From each of these virtual DVDs, I can now use the Update executable to update 32-bit installations of Windows XP without an internet connection, without hassle.
WSUS Offline allows you to download updates for Windows XP (and Office 2013) to update them with Microsoft updates, once and for all.
